Project Overview

This multi-purpose sports ground is located in Southeast Asia, covering basketball, badminton and amateur football training. The original lighting system adopted traditional metal halide lamps. After long-term operation, the site suffered obvious light attenuation, high power consumption, uneven light distribution and severe glare. The original lighting could not meet the requirements for regular training and local amateur matches.

The property management team planned a full lighting retrofit. They required the new lighting solution to achieve stable illumination, reduce energy consumption, simplify maintenance, and satisfy the illumination standards for amateur tournaments. After comparing multiple lighting suppliers, they finally selected HRLUX HRMZ500A modular stadium lighting solution.

Project Challenges 

The existing lamp bracket structure was reserved, so the weight and installation size of new lamps must match the original mounting positions without large-scale steel structure reconstruction.

Athletes complained about strong glare in the old lighting system; the new lights need to control glare value effectively to avoid visual interference during ball movement.

The site has multiple sports functions, requiring balanced illumination across the whole ground, dark corners are not allowed.

Local high temperature and humid climate, the lamps need reliable heat dissipation and outdoor waterproof performance for long-term stable operation.

Our Solution 

HRLUX engineering team carried out on-site measurement and Dialux optical simulation according to the field dimension and mounting height. We adopted HRMZ500A modular stadium lights for this project.

HRMZ500A adopts split modular design. Each light module can work independently. The customer can configure the lamp power flexibly according to the illumination requirement. Equipped with high-efficiency LED chips and customized optical lens, it realizes precise light projection, cuts light spillage and suppresses glare.

The lamp housing uses die-cast aluminum heat dissipation structure, which can quickly export internal heat. IP66 waterproof & dustproof rating adapts to tropical humid outdoor environment. Power supply supports surge protection, to resist voltage fluctuation in local power grid.

Engineers adjusted installation angle of each lamp, optimized the light distribution, to ensure uniform illumination over the whole sports area.

Project Results & Benefits 

After installation and commissioning, the site illumination fully meets the amateur competition lighting standard. Uniformity of illumination is greatly improved, dark zones on the court are eliminated.

Energy Saving: Compared with the old metal halide lamps, the overall power consumption dropped by 58%, bringing obvious electricity cost savings every year.

Low Maintenance: Modular design enables separate replacement of failed modules. No need to change the whole luminaire, maintenance cost and downtime are reduced.

Long Service Life: Good heat dissipation performance slows down light decay. The expected service life reaches more than 80,000 hours.
