2. Local Challenges Before Renovation
Wigan belongs to the typical high-latitude temperate maritime climate in Northern England. The local government and residents faced obvious lighting difficulties before the renovation:
•Insufficient solar radiation: Long cloudy weather, short winter daylight (only 7-8 hours per day). Ordinary solar street lights often run out of power at midnight.
•High grid electricity cost: Traditional wired streetlights required expensive cable trenching and municipal electricity fees. The maintenance cost of aging circuit was extremely high.

Intelligent Control: Light control + time control + microwave human body induction. 100% brightness for the first 6 hours after dark, automatically dim to 30% brightness in the late night.
3.2 Installation Construction Plan
All street lights adopted off-grid stand-alone installation without cable trenching. The construction team completed all installation and debugging within 14 days, effectivelyavoiding damage to residential greening and road surface. The simple foundation design greatly reduced construction labor costs.
